Efforts are ongoing to ensure bat species are well represented in the biodiversity management of Nigeria as well as West Africa. In the event of the recent COVID-19 pandemic, Batlife family in Nigeria in speaks for bats and their roles in the environment which far outweighs the persecution they are facing. Our recent outing to one of our field sites reveals that many of the residents within the fringe communities belief that bats and many other suspected wildlife species are not guilty as charged. Hence they agree to the efforts at conserving forest patches but will sincere interventions from the government of the day.
